Siya’s Testimonial Skit

I will try to post subtitle to his performance. Briefly, wanted to tell Sunday School children that they are special in Christ even if they don’t know their fathers.

Zola Children’s Church Video

It is a highlight of Pastor Denzyl, Lawrence and Graham’s visit to Zola children’s church a few weeks back. They made a great video for us and played during the Sunday service. Enjoy!

옷을 줄까? 마음을 줄까? by Paul

“사람이 단정하면 어디서든 기죽을 것 없다. 좋은 옷은 못 입어도 깨끗하고 단정하게 다녀야 한다.” 어린시절 저를 키워주신 할아버지, 할머니는 옷을 사주기 보다 옷을 입을 때 필요한 올바른 마음을 가르쳐 주셨습니다. 지난주 토요일 청소년 예배에 온 한 아이가 기도제목으로 이런 이야기를 합니다. “저는 토요일 청소년 예배에 […]

Welcome to South Africa!

Have you seen one of the 80’s movies about Harlem? Must been a Eddy Murphy movie. A character parks his car on a street of Harlem and, when he returns, his car is supported by bricks on four corners and all four wheels are gone. It did happened to me. When I came back with new wheels, one of the student, Thembi said to me, “Welcome to South Africa!”

Actually, it helped me a lot. I parked my car in front of the Auto Mechanic building at 9am. I had an unpleasant conversation with Elijah and came out to find my car like that. Because of it, I spent some quality time with Elijah. I think God had planned it. 🙂 The store where we bought the tires from gave me a gift basket, which went to Elijah’s wife.

When I went to Police Station to report, a bizarre thing happened. At the entrance of the station, I asked an office where I should go. He kindly directed me to a counter inside and he suddenly looked over me. Then he rolled his eyes over his head like he was looking at something flying over his head. Then he turned and collapsed. I caught him from falling and laid him on the ground and yelled for an ambulance. He started having seizure and foaming at his mouth. People gathered around us to help and I stood up him and started to pray over him. Fortunately, by the time I left the station, he was fully recovered.

it was a truly a bizarre day. But for some reason, I was very thankful to God. It was a long day, but I can praise the Lord.

Welcome to South Africa.

Zola Children’s Church Children’s Interview

We interviewed children in Zola Sunday School on Friday. Pastor Denzyl and AL board member Lawrence from Gorden’s Bay Baptist Church came out and help us interviewing the children. We had to finish at 40, but we had close to 70 children for the service. […]

Prayer request for Siya

Many times in our Christian walk, we face hindrances. For example, I have seen many times people decided to go on a mission trip, then things happen to hinder them from actually going. The hindrances I have seen are often financial shortfalls, friends or family problem, school work, and job situation. It literally puts out the flame. In Africa, it comes at you with harsher severity. I ask you guys to pray for Siya. He is 23 old guy who just moved from Kraaifontein (another township in Cape Town)to Khayelitsha. He was a gang member, been to prison, robbed people, done drugs and many other bad things. He used to be feared by his neighbors. However, after he accepted Jesus through African Leadership ministry, he was loved by them. He was helping with Children’s church and they started to accept him. Now he left his family and joined African Leadership in Khayelitsha. We found him a little shack in Kanini area and I joined the German team in finishing up a Youth Centre building in front of his house, where we will do a ministry. After I left the site with Pastor Ohm, we received a phone call saying Siya’s sister had been raped. He was rushing back home to find out what was going on. I have no words to comfort him, but I am asking you guys to keep him in your prayers for strength and most importantly God’s presence in this matter.
