Prayer request

Abohna has a skin condition and two doctors can’t figure out what it is. He has bumps and rash all over his body now. It has been three weeks and worsening each day. It concerns us especially because we take him to the townships for […]

Our first Sunday School in Zola

We started it today. About 20 kids came and I think it went well. We will use this as a testing ground for us to implement Montessori method with township children. I hope it will give us and Wendy good insights in carrying out Montessori methods in the township. Today we shared about Jesus walking on water. We shared with them to be courageous in Christ and to believe in him to be their strenght. Sunday school will happen every Friday at 3pm.

Auto Mechanic Minstry begins

How ironic. We have two students for Auto Mechanic ministry as well. Classes will begin this morning with a Bible study in about an hour. Their names are Thembinkosi Gibson and Sansire Daziba. Please pray that we can build strong relationships first. Also pray for […]

If you were taking a walk and saw a lake…

If you were taking a walk and saw a lake drained exposing the bottom, you would notified a proper authority to find the cause of the phenomenon. If you were an Israelite chased by the Pheroah’s army and saw Red sea opened up, you would praise the Lord. Know God’s plan for your life, and you will see His works in your life.

Our student teacher Wendy’s house in Zola

Zola is a township just like Khayelitsha. It is close to our house and is where Wendy lives with her family. We met her sisters and children, Tony and Lisa. She had a large room that children in the neighborhood come and play. It was […]

2010 African Leadership Annual Retreat

It was time to get ready for the new year. We revisited our visions and meaning of ‘For the Kingdom.’ Helen and I was not able to attend the entire sessions due to the preschool schedule, but we were able to attend parts of the […]

The first day of school

The first day of school in Liyabona Montessori began about 45 minutes ago. We did begin with prayers. We proclaimed it was God’s school and we asked for wisdom and guidance. Especially, for our relationship with Wendy will be strong to carry out the vision. Wendy’s real name is Thozeka Makhundayi.

Please pray for Abohna. He is having a hard time. Helen has been around him all the time, so he needs to adjust for not having her around. He was crying, but I was able to console him with ‘Kungfu Panda.’ Hope it is good for 2 hours.

Later all of us will head out to Strandfontein to attend the African Leadership Annual Retreat. Pastor Ohm will speak on our vision, so I want Wendy to attend it.

Liyabona Montessori as it began

One teacher, two students (Emma and), one student teacher (Wendy), two classrooms and our focus on Jesus. Thank you all for your prayers. Your partnership will be essential to our ministry. Enjoy the slideshow of the Liyabona Montessori Preschool. Just click on the picture.
