Many times in our Christian walk, we face hindrances. For example, I have seen many times people decided to go on a mission trip, then things happen to hinder them from actually going. The hindrances I have seen are often financial shortfalls, friends or family problem, school work, and job situation. It literally puts out the flame. In Africa, it comes at you with harsher severity. I ask you guys to pray for Siya. He is 23 old guy who just moved from Kraaifontein (another township in Cape Town)to Khayelitsha. He was a gang member, been to prison, robbed people, done drugs and many other bad things. He used to be feared by his neighbors. However, after he accepted Jesus through African Leadership ministry, he was loved by them. He was helping with Children’s church and they started to accept him. Now he left his family and joined African Leadership in Khayelitsha. We found him a little shack in Kanini area and I joined the German team in finishing up a Youth Centre building in front of his house, where we will do a ministry. After I left the site with Pastor Ohm, we received a phone call saying Siya’s sister had been raped. He was rushing back home to find out what was going on. I have no words to comfort him, but I am asking you guys to keep him in your prayers for strength and most importantly God’s presence in this matter.
i will keep him in my prayer. I hope he can find peace in God…..
I also wanted to check if you are okay with all the violence happening in South Africa because of the preparation for world cup and government conflicting with people there….
Hi Michelle. Thank you for your comment. Siya is doing great. His brother was sent to jail awaiting a trial. He is being faithful and strong. Please continue to pray for him. We are doing very well here. Thanks for your concern. Hope the World Cup would be a pleasant experience for all. So far, we are doing fantastically. 🙂
