When I was running around looking for a school for Papama outside of the black township last year, admission officers from other high schools warned me to expect a 20% drop in Papama’s grade. On top of that she switched from Afrikaans classes (her primary school taught in Afrikaans) to English classes, which made it much tougher.
As Papama completes her first year at Eco Mondeo School, she received 4 awards. 3 of them are related to sports, but one of them was the Academic Top 20 Achiever Award. Not just in grade 8, but she was in the top 20 of her entire school from grade 8 to 12.
She once said when she lost her mother 2 years ago, she lost all hope and her dreams were crushed. We were doing a devotion about how God turn things around for us if we just hang on to Him faithfully under any circumstances.
Thank you our dear friends, Rachel, Jiyeon, Paul, Issac and Josh.
